3 Deadly Socccer Coaching Drills
January 31st, 2010
It’s amazing to know that in soccer coaching drills, a coach may overlook the passing drills. You cannot think of becoming a match winner until you are an expert at passing the ball as it is the most basic skill. There are several games and interesting activities that can be introduced in youth soccer drills that go a long way in improving the passing skills of the boys.
Coach them on primary skills: Start with the basics first. Make two teams out of one with a separate ball to each team. Tell them to practice passing the ball within themselves.
The idea is to identify each player’s strengths and weaknesses. It also shows the amount of training that each player requires in passing the ball. Now you can measure the improvement of each team member individually.
The Moving Circle: There are a lot of games that help players learn effective passing. One such soccer coaching drill is where two players stand in a circle and the other team members outside it.
Then the players inside the circle attempt to intercept the ball thrown at them by the players outside. One of the players making the circle will replace the player inside the circle as soon as he captures the ball. Soccer practice drills like these provide the opportunity to players to learn and develop in an enjoyable manner.
